SB 272 amends Part 1 of Article 2 of Chapter 13 of Title 16 of the OCGA to prohibit the sale of drug products containing dextromethorphan to or by minors. Any seller of such product must obtain proper identification from purchasers. A person that knowingly selling to a minor shall receive a warning letter upon first violation and, upon each subsequent violation, a civil penalty not exceeding $100.00. A minor that unlawfully purchases such product shall face similar penalties except that the civil penalty must not exceed $150.00. Violations shall not result in a licensing action against a person by any government entity. |
